Jim, whose daughter died in the Lockerbie air disaster, praised Colin Firth's performance in a new drama about the bombing. He called Firth's portrayal 'extremely telling' and found the set recreation of Camp Zeist 'amazing'.

Since the worst air disaster and deadliest terror attack in UK history, Jim has campaigned to find the truth about what happened to his daughter. During a regularly scheduled flight from Frankfurt to Detroit, as the plane passed over Lockerbie , it exploded and 259 passengers and crew were killed. As the plan fell from the sky, 11 residents in the small Scottish town of Lockerbie were also killed.

The disaster took place on December 21, 1988 and since then, Dr Jim has been a spokesperson for the UK victims' families as he searches for the truth and justice. Dr Jim has already seen the series and reflecting on moments that stood out, he praised Colin Firth for his portrayal. 'It may seem something very simple when taking into account all the glorious huge life scale sets and so on,' he began. 'The thing that really struck me was a close up at one point of Colin's face, and the little muscles in his face were doing exactly what I knew my little muscles would have been doing if I had been asked that question. 'That really brought home to me how involved Colin had become in what he was being asked to portray. That was an extremely telling moment, just for me.' Reflecting on walking onto set, Jim shared the set for Camp Zeist 'bought back intense memories of the actual trial'. 'The recreation of Camp Zeist was amazing,' he explained. 'Primarily because of its scale, it was such a huge thing. 'There was a big section of the studio which was given over to being a carpentry shop where they were manufacturing part of the build - it was very interesting to see all of that.' Meanwhile, actor Colin, known for his roles in Bridget Jones and Pride & Prejudice, admitted he didn't know much about Jim before the project but knew he had a 'remarkable' story. 'I do remember the story of one of the relatives trying to challenge the security system at the airport and then obviously reading the script led me to look him up,' Colin share
