Lola is a writer and self-proclaimed pop culture obsessive living in Los Angeles, California. She graduated with a degree in Dramatic Writing for Film and Television in 2020, and has been putting that degree to good use - mainly through pithy Letterboxd reviews.
Lola's focus is in film and television. Specifically, she loves comedy and horror, and exploring the surprising overlaps between the two genres. It's impossible to pick a single favorite piece of media, but the 1959 Twilight Zone series has a special place in Lola's heart.
She caught a SyFy Channel marathon as a kid and it opened her up to a whole new world of what storytelling could look like. She still can't get on an airplane without worrying that Arlene Martel is going to show up and tell her there's "room for one more, honey." Despite being one of the most iconic horror films in history, Alien is Ridley Scott's only entry into the genre. This is a massive missed opportunity.
