The ballot has opened for the 2025 London Marathon with up to 20,000 spots available
To win your place in next year’s 26.2-mile course, hopefuls must act fast as the window for entry will soon close.
However, you can pay a non-refundable entry fee upfront, meaning the entry fee is reduced to £49.99 and any unsuccessful ballots will automatically be placed in a second draw. Over half a million people entered the ballot for the 2024 London Marathon, with 457,105 of those entering the UK ballot, so the chances are small, but they do exist.The marathon course starts in Greenwich and Blackheath, with runners assigned one of three start lines.
