PUT SIMPLY, the first rendition of 'Over The Rainbow' by Georgina Onuorah, who plays Dorothy in the Wizard Of Oz at the London Palladium, is utterly breathtaking.
Georgina OnuorahIt sets the tone for a wonderful musical, delivered by Michael Harrison, the producer of the smash-hit ‘Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat’ and the Really Useful Group.Starring familiar names such as Ashley Banjo as the Tin Man and Hickery, Gary Wilmot as Professor Marvel and The Wizard of Oz, Geoffrey Aymer as Uncle Henry, Jacqui Dubois as Aunt Em and many more, this production is definitely one for the summer diary.
Whether you are an ardent fan of the classic production or someone who has never seen the Wizard Of Oz before in any capacity, this one will leave you spellbound.Prior to attending the recent press evening I noted that Harrison had said that Onuorah was a ‘rare talent with great warmth.’The beautiful thing about this telling of the story is the way every cast member lifts the other.
It dawned on me that, they may not get the spotlight, but a big shout out has to go to the musicians who knit the whole thing together with their passion and expertise.It’s really one for the whole family and my kids loved it.
