Colleagues have been left 'devastated' by the death of a 61-year-old customer experience assistant in LondonThe Elizabeth Line worker who died following an attack in east London has been named as “amazing family man” Jorge Ortega.
In a tribute released through British Transport Police, his son said: “Our dad was the most loving person, the kindest soul you could have the pleasure of meeting. General Secretary Mick Lynch said: “We are deeply saddened by the passing of our member, who died following an attack while at work. Mike Bagshaw, Managing Director of MTR Elizabeth line, said: “This is an unimaginable loss, and my heart goes out to his family, friends, and colleagues during this profoundly difficult time.
MTR Elizabeth Line said security at Ilford station and the across the Eastern route of the Elizabeth line has been ‘enhanced’, including additional support from Land Sheriffs and TfL’s security team at several key stations.
