KFC responded with a formal request for Burger & Lobster to not only stop using the copycat container but to cease calling it a bucket.
It's a popular way for fans of fried chicken to tuck in and share their takeaways or eat in at restaurants.
The chain launched its own large red-and-white striped container packed with two whole lobsters, half a pound of prawns and chips covered in a butter sauce bearing the slogan: 'It's claw lickin' good'. Marketing manager Amy Illing said: 'We want to be crystal clear this is absolutely, positively not a bucket. Each 'cylindrical vessel' costs £95 for two diners and contains two 1.25lb lobsters, either steamed, grilled or fried, with the prawns, unlimited crispy fries and lashings of the seafood company's signature lemon and garlic butter sauce.A KFC 'bargain bucket' filled with 14 pieces of chicken and four portions of fries costs £20.99The limited-edition meal is on sale at UK outlets until the end of the month.
Burger & Lobster was launched in Mayfair by four schoolmates in 2011. They had set out to open a restaurant focusing on 'perfecting the craft' of just one or two main ingredients.
