London Underground strike to go ahead after talks over jobs and pensions fail
A London Underground strike is to go ahead after transport bosses and unions were unable to reach an agreement.
RMT general secretary Mick Lynch said bosses had missed a "golden opportunity" to stop the strike and union members were left with "no choice". "TfL need to start making compromises and work with the union to reach a deal that works for staff and avoids further disruption."TfL said it "wanted to come to an agreement" but "the proposals that were made were not possible to deliver".
"Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached but we remain open for discussions as there is still time for the unions to call off this action."
