Long Beach is set to host the U.S. Conference of Mayors — a major event which draws hundreds of political leaders from across the country to its host city each year — in June 2026.

The annual meeting will also serve as a platform for the organization to outline its priorities for advocacy at the federal level. “ conference continues to be the leading voice of cities in our nation’s capital,” USMC’s website said, “ to this day is a nonpartisan forum where mayors engage directly with the President and Congress on the most pressing issues of the day.”

“The annual meeting is one of two major meetings the organization hosts each year to adopt policy resolutions that guide the organization’s advocacy work,” the news release said.
