The Texas Department of Transportation says weekend closures will continue through mid-May as crews continue the installation of steel beams.
As expected, Loop 1604 will be completely shut down again this weekend at the interchange with Interstate 10 on the Northwest Side . Crews will continue installation of steel beams in preparation for building flyover ramps, the Texas Department of Transportation said in a news release. The plan calls for 20 steel beams to be put in place; last weekend, nine beams were installed, TxDOT said in a post on X.
Loop 1604 detour details For those who can’t avoid the area, here are the detour details for this weekend’s closure : Those going east on I-10 and heading to eastbound Loop 1604 will get off I-10 using the exit after La Cantera Parkway and take the eastbound I-10 frontage road through the interchange. At UTSA Boulevard, use the U-turn to get on the westbound I-10 frontage road and take it to the Loop 1604 frontage road.
