Katie Piper, the Loose Women panellist, has revealed that she has had an artificial eye fitted after years of surgeries to save her real one. The star suffered eyesight loss in her left eye due to a horrific acid attack by an ex-boyfriend and had to undergo multiple operations to save it.
Sharing photos and video footage of her procedure, she captioned the emotional post: "After many years battling with my eye health, I've reached the end of the road somewhat, and the decision has been made to try a prosthetic eye shell. This marks the start of a journey to have an artificial eye, with an incredible medical team behind me. As always I'm incredibly grateful to all those in the NHS and private health care system for their talent and kindness.
Another added: "Dearest Katie I simply want to say that you are incredible not just for courageously navigating through these challenges but because you are so full of compassion for others. Love and hugs."
