The Lorain County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two suspects in an attempted theft Tuesday, while also putting social media rumors to rest.

The Sheriff’s Office posted Tuesday that road patrol deputies were dispatched to Sliman’s on Leavitt Road in Amherst for an accident in the parking lot. Deputies say the dealership reported a person had struck the back of the building with a vehicle and fled on foot with a woman who was also in he car.
Officials on scene determined that the driver attempted to steal the vehicle that was in the parking lot at Sliman’s, deputies say. "Social media reports are being circulated that a body was discovered and the subjects were wanted in connection to that. The reports circulating on social media are not true. There was no one killed or injured,” the sheriff’s office wrote.
