Scotland's top law officer has blanked questions on why the investigation into SNP finances has taken so long.
After she exited the Parliament chamber, Bain faced several questions from waiting journalists on Operation Branchform but offered no comment. The police probe was initially focused on how cash raised in 2017 and 2019 as part of a referendum appeal was spent. Sturgeon, her husband and former SNP CEO Peter Murrell, and former treasurer Colin Beattie were all arrested and questioned as suspects last year before released without charge
