Lorraine Kelly surprised her guests, Jessica Brown Findlay and James McArdle, with a live appearance from a surfing instructor they knew while discussing their new drama series, Playing Nice, filmed in Cornwall.
Lorraine left her guests Jessica Brown Findlay and James McArdle scratching their heads after she organized a mid-interview 'surprise' that appeared out of the ordinary. The host was joined by the stars of Playing Nice when the bizarre moment unfolded. On Monday's episode, the Scottish icon was joined by ITV duo Jessica and James - who are the main characters in the hotly awaited thrilling drama that follows a husband and wife's harrowing plot where two babies are swapped at birth.
With the addictive four-part series based in Cornwall, UK, ending this evening, the twosome appeared on Lorraine to discuss all the backstage gossip when things took an odd and unexpected turn mid-interview. 'Our Lucie Cave is actually live in Cornwall because lots of people want to know where it is filmed,' announced Lorraine with a smile on her face before adding: 'Look at that. Does that bring back lovely memories of gorgeous Cornwall?' They nodded in agreement as Lucie unveiled the 'surprise' live from the icy shores. After introductions, the TV presenter admitted to Lorraine: 'It is a bit chilly, but I'm bracing myself to go into the sea a little bit later on. I'm in Mawgan Porth, which is one of the locations for the series.' Pointing to the coast, Lucie said: 'If you look over there,' as the camera honed in: 'You can see Miles and Lucy's house, which at the time of filming was owned by a property developer but has now been sold for several million pounds.' She then proceeded to unearth the 'surprise,' introducing a familiar face known to James and Jessica, a surfing instructor they both knew very well. The stars of the drama series were blown away as they revealed the surf expert live on the breakfast programme. Peter Abell appeared spritely as he waved enthusiastically to Lorraine and her guests back in the studio. Peter was dressed in a black wetsuit as he braved the ice-cold Cornwall temperatures alongside showbiz correspondent Lucie, who also matched his attire. She complained: 'The things you have me do, Lorraine,' as she took to a surfboard to practice before heading to the freezing cold sea later on. There were giggles all around as Lucie rehearsed lying flat on the board and then lunging up in the air as the instructor said, 'I think you'll be a pro and take a wave on the first go.' The TV reporter, however, wasn't as convinced. Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV1, from 9am
