The crash caused traffic issues for several hours
Emergency services were called to junction 1 of the M57 , near Tarbock Island, at around 4am on Thursday, April 4. It followed reports of a crash which eyewitnesses said involved a HGV which had crashed into a barrier.
North West Motorway Police said the exit slip road and one lane were closed as emergency workers dealt with the incident. Photos taken by the ECHO near the scene at around 8am today showed long queues and slow moving traffic.
