Abigail Harvey suffered fatal injuries in the crash
A lorry driver searched for Romanian TV programmes before fatally crashing into a young woman, a court heard.He is on trial accused of causing death by dangerous driving in the early hours of November 3, 2017.College student Abigail Harvey, 21, suffered fatal injuries when her Audi A1 was struck by the Iveco Stralus truck.Prosecutor Nina Ellen said police looked at footage from the cab of the lorry showing the moments before the crash.
She added: ‘There was clearly inadequate distance between the car and the lorry and insufficient time to stop.’The defendant made two Google searches for a Romanian television programme, she said.Ms Ellen said the investigation concluded that Sandulache ‘would have been playing that television show on his phone at the time of the collision’.
