The City of Angels isn't out of the woods yet - strong winds are forecast to move into the area again, worsening fire conditions.

Firefighters have continued to work day and night to battle the spreading fire Two dozen people have died after fires ravaged most of Los Angeles this past week – and dangerous weather is expected to spread the flames further. The Los Angeles County coroner’s office said eight of the 24 recorded deaths were attributed to the Palisades fire and 16 were from the Eaton fire. At least 16 people are still missing, with authorities saying the number is expected to rise.

Those winds have been largely blamed for fanning the flames, and spreading sparks which enabled the wildfires to turn into infernos, in the city which has seen no significant rainfall in more than eight months. The Palisades Fire is still burning, with fears it could spread to the area of the UCLA campus and the Getty Center, which houses a large collection of artwork but was designed to resist fire.
