As Blackpool Pleasure Beach kicks off for a new season, it was reported one of its iconic and longstanding rides is to close for good.

So, to celebrate the Pleasure Beach rides we've loved and lost, Lancs Live has listed some of our favourites lost over time. This isn't meant to be a complete list of all the lost rides, so any you loved and feel should have been mentioned let us know in the comments below. 4. Cyclone Cyclone was a steel roller coaster that originally opened at Blackpool Pleasure Beach in 1974. It was relocated to Frontierland in Morecambe, changing its name to Stampede in 1987, and operated until 1998.

The ride closed in 2008 and was sold to Brean Leisure Park, where it has been known as Astro Storm since 2010. 7. Drench Falls log flume Drench Falls was the first log flume to operate in Europe, opening in 1967. Billed as the theme park's first great thrill ride since the installation of the coasters, it was the longest flume ride in the world at that time, measuring 2,349ft long.8. The Whip The Whip is believed to have first operated at the Pleasure Beach in 1921. When it was removed in 2008 it was the oldest fairground-style ride at the park.
