A 3.0 magnitude earthquake has struck in east Victoria, some residents claiming they felt the quake when they woke to a “loud rumble”.

The quake was recorded about 12.03am on Saturday in Lakes Entrance, a coastal town in the state’s east some 319km from Melbourne.In a Facebook post, one woman said: “I was woken up to a loud rumble and I checked my phone and it was 12.03. I thought I was going insane.”No-one has been injured and there has been no reported damage, Victoria’s State Emergency Service said in a tweet.

Picture: Supplied / Geoscience Australia It follows a wild week of weather across the southern state, with multiple flood warnings still in place for parts of the Yarra and Thompson Rivers. At 10.10pm yesterday a moderate warning for the Yarra River from Millgrove to Coldstream was issued, with residents urged to move to higher ground.
