Aston Villa forward Louie Barry is closing in on a loan move to Hull City for the remainder of the season.
Louie Barry , a forward linked with Leeds United , is poised to join Hull City . According to Hull Live, Hull City has secured a loan agreement with Aston Villa to sign the young prospect for the remainder of the season. It is understood that the Tigers have been in discussions with Villa since late last year, attempting to entice Barry to the MKM Stadium. The 21-year-old is anticipated to undergo a medical examination with Hull City later this week.
Barry, who can operate effectively as a central striker or on the left wing, spent the first half of the season on loan at Stockport County. During his time there, he made a significant impact, scoring 15 goals in 23 League One appearances and one goal in the EFL Trophy. Over the past few weeks, a number of Championship clubs, including Leeds, Sheffield United, Middlesbrough, and Derby County, have been associated with a potential move for Barry. Scottish giants Celtic have also reportedly expressed interest in the player. Unai Emery, the manager of Villa, is eager to see Barry gain consistent playing experience in the Championship following his successful stint at Stockport. 'We are very happy with Barry, but we have one plan with him, and that is to extend his contract and continue his process as a player and to go on loan, get experience and confidence,' Emery stated. 'How we are working with him now and last year is the right way for him.' Hull City, who also signed Joe Gelhardt from Leeds earlier this month, climbed out of the Championship relegation zone after a convincing victory against Sheffield United last week. They currently hold the 19th position in the table
