A new Sky documentary, Boyzone: No Matter What, takes a look back at the boyband's golden years and their relationship with their manager Louis Walsh
Louis Walsh, the brains behind 90s pop sensation Boyzone, has come under fire from the band in a new documentary.
Set to air on Sunday , the three-part documentary revisits key moments in the band's history, such as Stephen Gately's forced outing by the media, their split, and their relationship with Louis Walsh. Walsh engaged with The Sun's entertainment journalist Rav Singh, who would later bring Stephen Gately's sexuality into the public eye. The Irish Mirror's Paul Martin also weighed in on the rivalry his publication had with The Sun for exclusive scoops on Boyzone.
He added the weight of such fabrications, saying, "It scarred us. It was hugely scarring what the media did to us all."The members of Boyzone acknowledged they weathered some harsh times under Walsh's management. Post Boyzones break, Walsh parted company with the group but continued to steer Ronan Keating's solo pursuits.
