It's not the smallest show to take the reins of but thewhitmore is owning it!

The presenter – who was recently announced as an ambassador for the Virgin Money Emerging Stars programme – took the reins of the ITV programme for its first winter series earlier this year, after original show host Caroline, who tragically died in February, had earlier stepped down., but has spoken about the pressure in taking over what is arguably one of the biggest shows on television.

While she’s meant to be sunning herself in Spain right now on the Majorca set, she’s bunkering down alongside partner Iain Stirling – who also narrates the programme – in London due to the pandemic. Laura went on: ‘I think I’m very lucky I got to work on the show this year, the first time they were doing two series, so I think we’ve had our bit of Love Island this year.

She continues: ‘It’s a safety thing and you have to do it right. It’s not until you work on the show you realise how big the show is – you look at it, last year we had about 50 islanders, flying back and forth, Casa Amor and things like that, the production is huge, 200 people on set, its\ not just a small villa, it’s so much bigger than that. They wanted to do it safely.
