Marcel Somerville, the 39-year-old Love Island star, is returning to the show for the 2025 All-Stars spin-off. Despite being known as 'Dr Marcel' for his relationship advice on his previous season, Marcel admits he needs advice himself after his marriage and past relationship ended. He explains that he's open to finding love again despite past heartbreak.
Love Island star Marcel Somerville has admitted 'I need to take some advice' as he makes an epic return to the ITV show. The 39-year-old is set to become the oldest Love Island UK contestant as he takes part in the 2025 All-Stars spin-off, which will hit screens on January 13th on ITV2. During his first stint, Marcel left a memorable impression on viewers in 2017 and came a respectable fourth place alongside his former partner, Gabby Allen.
However, although Marcel was known for imparting wisdom to his fellow co-stars during his time on the island of love, the star has confessed that he will take a different approach this time around. When asked why he wanted to give the All-Stars version a go, he explained: 'I thought that I’d completed love and found my happily ever after – but the universe had a different plan. Somehow every time my life’s at a crossroads, I’ve got the opportunity to do Love Island. So I thought, why not?' After their whirlwind romance in 2017, Love Island stars Gabby and Marcel called time on their relationship in 2018 when it was revealed musician Marcel had been unfaithful. Years later, Marcel hit headlines again when he tied the knot to TV personality Rebecca Vieira in 2022.
