Love Island has topped Ofcom's list of most-complained about TV shows of 2022, with multiple instances on the show leading to viewers complaining to the TV watchdogs
Love Island has been announced as the most-complained about TV show of 2022, judging by the of complaints made to Ofcom.
This degree of possessive behaviour raised alarm bells for some fans, with some even contacting Women's Aid, who later confirmed they were in talks with ITV over the episode. Ofcom concluded that no formal investigation was needed into this due to the behaviour being put into context. Ofcom release a statement, which read: "It’s worth being aware that under our rules, in principle - and taking into account freedom of expression - there's no ban on any particular person taking part in programmes.
Love Island then appears twice more on the list - in fourth and seventh places, both also relating to “complaints related to alleged misogynistic and bullying behaviour by some contestants in the villa”.
