UK fans won't have to stay up late to watch it like the first series...
Love Island might not have happened in the UK this year, but coronavirus hasn’t stopped the US production team from cracking on and filming their own series. Luckily for us, the show will be aired on ITV2 next month - so we won’t have to wait another year to hear people say ‘it is what it is’ and make dramatic confessions in the beach hut.
Usually, the US series is filmed in Fiji - but this year, in order to keep the contestants safe, it will be filmed in a ‘bubble’ from a villa on top of Caesars Entertainment’s boutique hotel, The Cromwell, in Las Vegas. And host Arielle Vandenberg and narrator Matthew Hoffman will return to oversee the battle to win the $50k cash prize.
Intrigued? The show starts in America tonight, but we’ll be able to tune in from September 7, with the first episode airing at 9pm on ITV2 .Paul Mortimer, ITV’s Head of Digital Channels and Acquisitions said: ‘We’re thrilled that ITV2 can bring the latest US version of Love Island to viewers this year. Las Vegas may seem like an odd destination for the show but the canny producers have beaten Covid with a show that adheres to all production protocols and that could well be sensational.
