The effects of Cupid’s arrow seem to be everlasting as a devoted Paisley couple celebrate 60 years of marriage.
They wed at Martyrs Church in Paisley in 1964 before welcoming three girls. June told the Paisley Daily Express the pair, now 81 and 76, are the “most loving parents” who provided a “great” life for their three daughters. There is also a dedicated St Mirren section that will follow every kick of the ball with the Buddies.“Mum was the tougher one whereas dad was the softer one but overall we had a very good childhood thanks to them both.” Jimmy still goes hillwalking up the Munros, having conquered Loch Lomond’s Conic Hill earlier this summer, and continues to watch his beloved St Mirren whenever possible.
