THE state-run weather agency said on Wednesday that the low pressure area may enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility but has a slim chance to escalate into a tropical cyclone.Weather forecaster Obet Badrina of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said the trough or extension of the weather disturbance outside PAR is bringing overcast skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Visayas, Mindanao and Palawan.
'Pagasa has been monitoring this LPA for days and it may possibly enter PAR but it is unlikely to intensify into a storm,' Badrina told The Manila Times.Pagasa said Cagayan Valley, Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Abra, Kalinga, Aurora, Quezon and Bicol Region, may experience cloudy skies with rains due to the northeast monsoon or 'amihan.
