(UPDATE) OPERATIONS of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1) will be temporarily suspended for three weekends this month.
OPERATIONS of the Light Rail Transit Line 1 will be temporarily suspended for three weekends this month.According to LRT1 private operator Light Rail Manila Corp. , the suspension will facilitate preparations for the target Extension Phase 1's target opening in the fourth quarter this year.The temporary weekend suspensions will be on Aug ust 17 to 18; 24 to 25; and Aug . 31 to Sept. 1, 2024.
It said the three-weekend closures aim to integrate the existing LRT1 signaling system with the Cavite Extension; perform systems operation demonstration tests; and conduct the necessary operational exercises to ensure the safety and reliability of the extended system.LRMC General Manager Enrico Benipayo said that this system migration is a critical step in ensuring the safe and efficient operations of the extended LRT1 line.
