A grand jury has rejected an attempted murder charge against LSU running back Trey Holly, who will instead face a felony count of illegal use of a weapon.
A grand jury rejected the charge Friday, instead charging Holly with one felony count of illegal use of a weapon or dangerous instrumentality.
Holly intends to plead not guilty to the charge, his attorney Michael Small said Friday. LSU immediately suspended Holly following his arrest, and he has not been with the team during spring practice.
