Agents of the Land Transportation Office (LTO), backed by local police forces, apprehended a total of 1,201 motorists in their law enforcement operations in April this year. | ManilaBulletin
Roque I. Verzosa III, director of the LTO- National Capital Region West, said the motorists were apprehended for various offenses that include Republic Act 4136, or the Land Transportation and Traffic Code; R. A. 875O ; R.A. 10913 ; R.A. 10054 ; and Republic Act 8794 .
A total of 159 motorists were apprehended for violating R.A. 4136, majority of them were issued tickets for various violations such as motor vehicle operating with defective accessories, devices, equipment, and parts; unregistered motor vehicle; failure to carry OR/CR while driving a motor vehicle and other violations.
Verzosa said the operations are to be conducted throughout the year” We need to implement traffic laws for land transport to ensure order and safety on our roads.”
