Evidence used in Letby's trial has been questioned
Speculation around Lucy Letby 's conviction has been 'upsetting' for the families of her victims, a solicitor has warned. The 34-year-old was found guilty of murdering seven babies and attempting to murder six others, including two attempts on one infant, following an eight-month trial at Manchester Crown Court last year.
“And they have thought about so many ways in which they can try to address that and deal with it and make sure they put their voice across. But of course they’re restricted by wanting to keep themselves confidential and private. Last week, the Guardian reported that notes written by Letby - including one which read 'I am evil I did this' - and used in evidence by prosecutors were penned following a counsellor's advice. Her new barrister, Mark McDonald, also questioned 'bold assertions' made during the trial in an interview on Channel 5 - which separately ran a documentary on Letby's convictions.
