A consultant has told the public inquiry into Lucy Letby’s crimes that staff on the neonatal unit felt unable to raise concerns with hospital management, who she described as “detached” and “impersonal”.
"It didn’t feel like you could just walk up and bang on their door and say, ‘I’ve got a problem’," she added. "It was completely out of normality that we should have so many deaths on the unit," she said. "There was an air of disbelief about it.""No-one had seen or heard anything.
