A town's Christmas tree was felled by the wind during Storm Darragh.
A spokesperson for Ludlow Town Council said: “Thanks to the support of local businesses, it is planned to re-cut the base of the tree and put it back up on Monday - this plan assumes there is no further damage to the structure of the tree - and this will be fully assessed on Monday.”“The storm has snapped the Christmas tree in the market square at its base,” he wrote on social media.
The storm also had a chilling effect on the market where only one stall was open so close to Christmas.Councillor Boddington said: “The fruit and veg stall was open when I visited the market at 10am. The other stalls were empty.
