Luke Littler progressed to the third round of the PDC World Championship after defeating Ryan Meikle on Saturday, December 21. He beat the hairdresser by three sets to one in what was an explosive match. The 17-year-old became a household name last year when he shocked darts fans across the country with a triumphant run to the World Championship final. He fell at the final hurdle when he was defeated 7-4 by Luke Humphries in a gripping final at the Alexandra Palace.
Luke, from Runcorn, has continued with his mesmerising form throughout other competitions and won his first ranking PDC Major Title at the Grand Slam of Darts to break into the world's top 5 for the first time. His dazzling year of success even saw him come runner-up in the Sports Personality of the Year awards where he came second to Olympic runner Keely Hodgkinson. After his victory this weekend, Luke took to social media to shared an update with fans. He said: 'Fought until the end and just good to be through to the next round.
