Get ready, Riverdale fans – things are about to get emotional with this week seeing Luke Perry’s final episode.
The actor suffered a sudden stroke and passed away on 4 March at the age of 52 – and ever since then Riverdale has dedicated every episode to the father figure. Luke played Archie Andrews’ dad Fred in the series, and revived his career to a new generation after his 90210 heyday of the 90s. Roberto Aguirre Sacasa, Riverdale showrunner, revealed that the upcoming episode this week will feature the final scenes Luke acted in.
He told his Twitter followers: ‘This week’s #Riverdale is the last episode Luke filmed. As always, Fred’s imparting words of wisdom to Archie. A beautiful, true moment between a father and his son. Wish these scenes could go on forever…’, but as of mid-March had yet to figure out how to tackle his sudden death.
