Samera Sajid lied about making a visit to a service user's home, falsifying the visit book.
Samera Sajid was working in a care home service for adults when the incident occurred on February 7, 2021.
Ms Sajid failed to attend a scheduled visit to the service user at 8pm that night. However, during an earlier visit at 5.30pm that day, she falsified the visit book stating that the person was "well" and adding "sandwich made, had a chat, locked up, all well" in a premeditated plan.In a report by the Scottish Social Services Council, Ms Sajid's fitness to practise was found to be impaired and she was given a warning to stay on her registration for 18 months.
The decision reads: "Social service workers are expected to be honest and trustworthy, must not neglect service users and must provide an acceptable level of care to service users. They must also maintain accurate records. By failing to attend for the tuck visit, you left a service user without any care.
"As well as putting the service user at risk of harm, this behaviour places the reputation of the social care profession into question as it may cause the public to question the services provided.Falsifying the notes to say you did attend the tuck visit when you did not was dishonest."The report reads: "The behaviour put the service user at risk of harm as they were without care when care should have been delivered.
"The behaviour was pre-meditated as you gave the service user a sandwich at teatime and locked the door, when this should only be done at the tuck visit. As a lone-worker carrying out home visits, it is important that you are honest and do the work expected of you, as service users are relying on you to deliver that care.
