LaKeith Stanfield joins the cast of Die, My Love, the new movie from Lynne Ramsay that also stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson.
“Set in a remote forgotten rural area, the story follows a mother who struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis,” Deadline’s description of the plot reads. Further details remain under wraps at this time.Ramsay co-wrote the screenplay with Enda Walsh. Lawrence produces the movie alongside Martin Scorsese, Justine Ciarrochi, Andrea Calderwood, and Black Label Media, who is also financing the film.
Stanfield was nominated for Best Supporting Actor at the Academy Awards for his performance as Bill O’Neal in 2021’s Judas and the Black Messiah, which was directed by Shaka King. He’s also starred in movies such as 2013’s Short Term 12, 2014’s Selma, 2015’s Straight Outta Compton, 2017’s Get Out, 2018’s Sorry to Bother You, 2019’s Uncut Gems, 2019’s Knives Out, 2021’s The Harder They Fall, 2023’s Haunted Mansion, and 2023’s The Book of Clarence.
Having also starred in the television series Atlanta and The Changeling, Stanfield will soon be seen in Shane Black’s next movie, Play Dirty, which also stars Mark Wahlberg and Rosa Salazar. Ramsay’s first feature film as a director was 1999’s Ratcatcher. She followed that up with 2002’s Morvern Callar before then making We Need to Talk About Kevin in 2011.
