M&S has announced it will be 'reducing its full-line' stores in favour of food-only stores in the future.
Marks and Spencer is set to close more shops as part of its plan to shut down 110 sites as part of a major restructuring move for the firm.
The retailer has said it is keen to reduce its "full line" stores in favour of food-only stores. In an update provided in October 2022, it stated intentions to reduce its full line branches from 247 to 180 by 2028, while also launching 104 additional Simply Food shops. M&S has invested £480 million into a scheme termed as "store rotation programme", which is anticipated to lead to the creation of approximately 3,400 jobs. November 2023 was observed as the month with the largest number of store openings so far, where nine new shops were either opened or refurbished
