A lorry and a number of cars have crashed on the M1

Northbound traffic on the M1 has been stopped near East Midlands Airport after a collision late on Tuesday night. All three emergency services are currently at the scene.

A lorry and number of cars were involved in the crash. However, it appears no serious injuries have been reported. In an alert at around 11.30pm, National Highways said traffic had been stopped due to a collision. It said Leicestershire Police, the fire and rescue service, the East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust and its own traffic officers were on the scene.
