M55 chaos after unsecured wood falls onto motorway as car seized over no insurance
A motorist faces a series of offences after failing to secure a load and driving without a valid licence.
Traffic officers from Lancashire Constabulary came across the vehicle which had shed several planks of wood on the M55 on Saturday morning at around 9.08am. As families flocked to the seaside to enjoy the sun police were quick to make the scene safe. While officers were talking to the driver about the offence of having an insecure load they then discovered the motorist's driving licence had expired. The driver was reported for both offences and the car was seized.
