Safety improvements and resurfacing is taking place across Lancashire and Cumbria
Motorists are being warned of coming roadworks set to affect traffic flow on motorways and major trunk roads in the coming week.
The work started on Monday February 19 and will be complete by Friday March 15. It will require daytime and overnight road closures. To install the new drainage kerbs, under the daytime closures on the northbound approach to the junction, the safety barrier on the northbound approach will be removed. The diversion for when the turning lanes are closed will be to travel north to Eros Roundabout and make a U-turn. Overnight work will take place between 8pm and 5am.
During the day, the A590 will be open to traffic but operate under a 40mph speed restriction for the duration of the work. Diversion routes will be clearly signed. Road markings will be added to the gaps in the central reservation and advanced warning signs on both the east and westbound approaches to the junction will advise of the weight restriction on local authority roads.
