M6 and M61 live traffic updates as drivers hit by long rush-hour delays after crash near Preston
The incident took place on the northbound carriageway between junction 31 and junction 31A. As a result, lane one is closed with congestion back to J29 for the M65.
National Highways have advised that recovery is at the scene but there are delays of around 20 minutes. There are five miles of traffic in the area.A National Highways spokesperson said: "Lane 1 is closed on the #M6 north between J31 and J31A near #Preston due to a collision. Recovery is on scene. "There are 5 miles of congestion on approach causing delays of 20 min above normal travel time. There are also 2.5 miles of congestion back onto the #M61 north."
