M6, M55 and M65 closures and delays between Christmas and New Year due to ongoing roadworks
Motorists are being urged to plan ahead with roadworks set to take place on major roads and motorways this week.
Maintenance schemes taking place across Lancashire this week include resurfacing between Leyland and Shevington, safety barrier replacement on the M65 and the ongoing construction of a new junction on the M55 north of Preston.M6 between junctions 27 and 28 - carriageway resurfacing Work is ongoing to resurface the carriageway between junction 27 and junction 28 on the M6. The resurfacing is expected to continue until December 19.
M65 between junctions 7 and 10 - safety barrier replacement The work involves replacing parts of the safety barrier in the central reservation, as the structure has reached its end of serviceable life. The scheme will ensure the safety of drivers over the long term by reducing the risk of vehicle crossover. The repairs on the safety barrier will start on Monday 10 October and we’re aiming to finish our work by the end of May 2023.
