M6, M65 and A56 closures and roadworks that could cause delays for drivers across Lancashire this week
between junction 17 and junction 15 will continue as the barrier here has reached the end of its serviceable life and now needs to be replaced. When work is being carried out, National Highways will close the carriageway to all traffic.
Work started on January 16 and is not expected to end until the end of June 2023. National Highways will carry out work Monday to Friday. It will include both day time and nighttime traffic.Bridge joint and traffic count loop repairs started on February 1 and are to be completed by the end of February 2023.
Works will commence on Monday to Friday, between the hours of 8pm and 5am . During these works, overnight lane closures will be in place for safety. Additionally, six overnight carriageway closures are required on the M6 northbound and southbound between junctions 27 and 28- only one carriageway closed at a time to reduce disruption on road users.the M6 between Hackthorpe bridge and Tinklers Lane . It is being carried out in two phases.
The final phase of the work started on Friday and is expected to end on April 23. To minimise the length of disruption, National Highways be working both during the daytime between the hours of 8am and 5pm, and at other times overnight between the hours of 8pm to 6am.
