Six cows kicked through a fence and began walking on the hard shoulder at junction 25 and junction 24
A herd of cows caused chaos on the M62 this morning after escaping from their field and walking along the motorway.
A gritter driver reported their escape to emergency services who rushed to the scene and stopped traffic. National Highways and West Yorkshire Police Roads Unit worked together and managed to put the cows in a safe location at the side of the M62.Reporting the incident on Twitter, National Highways said: "#M62 J25 to J24 west - we've currently got the traffic stopped whilst we work with West Yorkshire Police Roads Unit to mooooove some loose cows from the road.
