A 30-year-old man has been taken to Wishaw General Hospital by ambulance after the horror smash near M74 junction 12 at 1.30pm this afternoon, Monday October 28.
Emergency services remain in the area with Police Scotland advising motorists to find alternative routes. The diversion is as follows: at Junction 11 leave motorway, taking the first exit at the roundabout– take 1st exit to B7078 – follow permanent signing to rejoin motorway at Junction 12 .
In a statement, Police Scotland Lanarkshire said: "The M74 is currently closed at Junction 12 following a four-vehicle collision. The incident happened southbound on the motorway around 1.30pm on Monday, 28 October, 2024. "A 30-year-old man has been taken to Wishaw General Hospital by ambulance. Emergency services remain in attendance and enquiries are ongoing."
