The M8 has reopened 12 hours after a horror smash in Glasgow which has left a police officer fighting for his life in hospital.
Traffic Scotland confirmed the motorway at junction 13 eastbound had fully reopened at 1.45am this morning, following a 12-hour closure. Hospital staff describe the condition of a 48-year-old police officer, 43-year-old man, and a 39-year old man as critical. The 27-year-old man, who is also being treated for minor injuries, has been arrested in connection with road traffic offences.
Pictures from the scene showed officers as well as the ambulance service and firefighters working behind black screens.
