Alexis Mac Allister believes Liverpool dropped two points against Brighton on Sunday afternoon
Alexis Mac Allisters insists it was nice to reunite with Brighton & Hove Albion supporters for the first time since his summer departure - but admits he found it hard to stomach Liverpool's draw with his former club.
Mac Allister was dispossessed in the first half after a slack pass from Virgil van Dijk, which led to Simon Adingra opening the scoring for Roberto De Zerbi's side. That lead was short-lived until Salah fired twice in quick succession - one of which coming from the penalty spot - as Liverpool ended the first half on top.
"It was a very good match against a very good side. We almost won the game and then we couldn't defend the set-piece. Overall, it is a good game and we feel like we dropped two points. It's a draw and then we move on," Mac Allister told BBC Sport. "The second half we had so many good moments. They couldn't get the ball and that was good for us. They are a strong team, they play football and counter-attack as well.
