Police are hunting three masked men who took off in a red saloon car after an attack involving a machete in Edinburgh in the early hours of Friday morning.
The victim sustained serious injuries and was blue-lighted to Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh for treatment. The suspects, who were wearing balaclavas and dress in dark clothing, are believed to have fled the scene in a red saloon-type vehicle. The road was closed for hours on Friday morning between Quality Street and Corbiehill Road while police enquiries are carried out. Traffic is currently being diverted away from the scene, including bus services, with locals advised to avoid the area.
Detective Inspector Kevin Tait said: “We are appealing for anyone who witnessed or has information on the incident to get in touch. I’d particularly ask anyone who was within the pub on Main Street yesterday evening to come forward to help our enquiries.
