Badly weakened by a political crisis at home, the young centrist has refocused his attention on the bloc’s parliamentary elections, warning that the EU cannot let nationalists exploit anger. Mr Macron compares far-right nationalists to “anger mongers, backed by fake news,” which actually makes him “the main perpetrator of fake news in France,” the hard-right lawmaker said in an interview with France Info radio, as he denounced the Macron government’s “general laxness”.
