With the full moon adding another layer of atmosphere, the launch event of the Ludlow Town Walls Trust will be remembered for a long time as something special.
Having recently been revived to help facilitate the repair to the section of the wall which collapsed in 2013, the Town Walls Trust opened its fundraising campaign with a Lantern Walk around the town’s Medieval Walls on 15 November.
Over 40 people set off from the Garden of Rest with their torches and lanterns, after a short welcome from Colin Richards, Chair of the Trust, and the town mayor, Councillor Beverley Waite.
The event raised over £200 but equally importantly, it also raised the profile of the Ludlow Town Walls Trust.“As a first fundraiser event, the Lantern Walk was a huge success,” Colin Richards said. “Everyone involved loved it, including the characters who added something really special – and as for the moon, well, we just couldn’t have asked for anything more!”
The Lantern Walk will be repeated on 30 December, although minus the moonlight and numbers, again, will be limited. Too book a place, call 07786 620 624.'I'm sorry' - Young driver caught on A5 under the influence of drugs is hit with four-figure court bill and road ban
